Hello
Welcome! I'm Amanda Lyons, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I earned my Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Wofford College and my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse College, where I was honored to be inducted into Delta Kappa, the International Marriage and Family Honor Society.
My Story
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and families in various settings, including outpatient, shelter, and residential environments. I work with children aged 3 and up, as well as adolescents and parents, in both individual and family sessions. Together, we'll determine the best approach to support your family''s needs. I work with adults individually who want to address trauma such as domestic violence, address shame, and build self-esteem.
My therapy approach is rooted in a systemic perspective, which means I consider the broader context of your relationships as we work together. I draw on evidence-based practices like play therapy, CBT, and solution-focused therapy, tailoring my methods to meet your unique situation. I specialize in addressing behavioral issues, family conflict, anxiety, depression, and more.
When I'm not at work, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, listening to live music, reading, and play with my dog, GusGus.
If you're ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule an appointment today. Let's work together to create a path toward wellness and peace for you and your family.
